ARTS ENCOUNTER, JAMAICA, Ages 3-6
Your young ones meet for 2 classes daily (dance and art), for 4 consecutive days, to explore, through dance, art, music, and foods from around the world - a different theme each week:
JAMAICA, POSTCARDS FROM TIP: June 24 - 27
While learning the various rhythms and drums of the Jamaican, Creole, and African cultures, your young dancers will dance the Wake Stick, the Limbo, and the colorful weave of the Maypole.
For our culminating performance: It Wont Be a Stew Without You.
Monday through Thursday,
Your young dancers will explore a different story ballet each week culminating in a Thursday family performance.
The children will use improvisation, basic movement concepts, folk dance, and classical ballet to recreate the story ballets.
Your children will design and construct costumes, props, and scenery to enhance their production.
At snack time, well explore different cultures as we sample foods from around the world.
