Along with performing in the cabaret clubs of New York, Risa performed in some of Long Island and New Yorks most unique venues -- a turn of the century foundry, a boatyard warehouse, the Heckscher Museum of Art and most recently in an eighty-five year old candle lit greenhouse. Her first passion in song was in the roles of opera, classical repertoire and musical theatre, but the intimacy and storytelling of cabaret has captured her now and her audience couldn't be happier.
"With a seamless blend of songs and stories that will break your heart or make you laugh until you plotz, cabaret singer Risa Finkel is just terrific. Its obvious her show is like a stunning string of pearls shimmering with many moments from her well lived life." Navida Stein, StageBuddy,2016
"Finkel has something essential going for her: an impressive talent for making listeners feel fully at home. She entertains not just by being a stand-on-the-stage and sing performer, but also in the sense of being a caring and gracious hostess." Mark Dundas Wood, Bistro Awards,2017
"Ms. Finkel possesses a smooth buttery sound throughout all her registers, but it is her depth of expressiveness and attention to story that makes a lovely voice remarkable, leaving no lyric unexplored." Navida Stein, StageBuddy,2018
