Central City Opera: "There's a Song For That"
Isn't it funny how snippets of songs come to mind when we hear a certain phrase or subject? "There's a Song for That!", Central City Operas newest ensemble concert, explores this phenomenon with songs by George Gershwin and Cole Porter; scenes from Gilbert & Sullivan's comic masterpieces The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance, and a host of other Broadway and Opera favorites.  You dont want to miss four splendid singers performing silly, sad or salacious songs for all occasions, with a masterful musician at the piano.

Featured Artists:
Amanda Raddatz, soprano: Her beautiful lyric soprano voice filled the hallwith love, anguish and of course, triumph. In a role where a pretty voice could be good enough, she surprised me by having the complete package: she could sing, act and make me care about what is essentially a caricature. (Colorado Springs Gazette)

Sarah Barber, mezzo soprano: An exquisite blending of dramatic voice coloring and an outstanding dramatic performance (San Mateo Daily Journal)

Jason Baldwin, tenor: There were many stars on this night But the crucial, often demanding solo duties were handled wonderfully by tenor Jason Baldwin. (Rocky Mountain News)

Bradley Thompson, baritone: "a strong, attractive voice with agility and range." As Papageno the bird catcher, baritone Bradley Thompson was the funny and charming centerpiece. (Colorado Springs Gazette)

Deborah Schmit-Lobis, piano: One of Colorados most sought-after pianists, arrangers, and composers, Deborahs sensitive musicality and experience with many varied genres of music, including classical, jazz, new age, music theater, and opera, help her create nuanced collaborative performances onstage.
