"Clever Little Lies"

***PSST, join us in a little mischief. Upstage Napa Valley presents Clever Little Lies, a comedy about sex, love, and secrets written by Joe DiPietro and directed by Sharie Renault. The play takes place in the comfortable home of Alice and Bill (portrayed by Elaine Jennings and Bruce Miroglio), who impress their parental wisdom upon their son Billy (Alan Schneider) in a well-intentioned effort to save his marriage to Jane (Alexis Forni), whose doting attentions are consumed by their newborn infant.

Billy, in an earlier scene at the club, admits to being preoccupied during the tennis match, the reason his father beat him, Dad "I played like I was in a coma" The scene continues as Billy asks his father, "Dad, do you think Im a good man!" His father responds,"Oh my God, now you're scaring me." After an anguished confession, Bill Sr. promises to keep Billy's secret, but Alice knows her husband too well and senses something is amiss. Uproarious turmoil develops as Alice searches for the truth, resulting in even more honesty than anyone expected.

CLEVER LITTLE LIES is a story of long-term love and marriage for better and for worse, an old fashion comedy - comfort food for theatergoers.
