Off-Flavor Sensory Training

Welcome to the Hopleaf Beer School! On the 3rd Tuesday of every month we will meet in the upstairs bar at Hopleaf to discuss (and taste) a particular topic or style of beer. Join us for 1, for many, or for all. Each class is $40 by itself or $200 if all 6 in the series are purchased. (See our event entitled "Hopleaf Beer School" to purchase the whole course for the discount price.)

Classes will always start at 7pm sharp and should run about 1 to 1.5hrs

Off-Flavor Sensory Training: Ever wonder what the "beer experts" are looking out for when they evaluate beer? Well, there are a lot of potentially bad or "off'" flavors that can show up in beer. Join us at Hopleaf for a sensory training seminar and taste 6 "off" flavors that the experts train to know. We will taste each of these 6 'off' flavors three times in three different kinds of beer. We'll also talk about the physiology of taste and the technique of tasting.
