Woke 2.0 : An Arts & Social Justice Problem Solving Lab So youve read the books, had the conversations, you consider yourself to be a bit woke or at least youre trying to be. And then it happens, the moment when you can intervene, when you want to hire a d/Deaf performer, you want to be inclusive and you dont have all the skills or tools you need. Lets acknowledge that no one person has the answers, but maybe together we can all learn to do better. Lets move past the knowledge phase into action.
Lets learn how to be brave together and deepen our practises to become truly inclusive, affirmative and joyful. Join Generator, The Storefront Theatre, Artscape Youngplace, and other partners as we explore and crowdsource ideas for a better and more inclusive live performance industry with practical ideas for the indie artist.
Edition #1 - Stand By Me Finding our voices and intervening when it counts Sunday, April 22, 2018 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM (doors open at 10:30 AM) 360 Geary Lane Registration limited to 20 people Register Here - $20 - if this fee is a barrier please email info@generatorto.com.
We've all been there: that off colour comment during rehearsal, a cringeworthy conversation in the dressing room, a few too many harsh words from the director. Maybe you walked away wishing that you said something. We believe in you! We believe you can do better next time. Let's talk strategy, best practises and work it out together. Bring your issues and get ready to role play and get deep. Let's learn how to do better next time. Facilitated by Sedina Fiati and Kristina Lemieux
