The Fox on the Fairway by Ken Ludwig
Bingham, president of the Quail Valley Country Club, has enlisted a scratch golfer, Tramplemain, to represent them in an interclub tournament against Crouching Squirrel Golf and Racquet Club that his club has lost for the past five years. The day of the match finds him without a golfer as his cocky and arrogant counterpart at Crouching Squirrel, Dickie, has stolen Tramplemain who now represents the opposing club. Unknowingly, Bingham had already placed a large bet with Dickie and is in danger of losing not only his shirt, but his job, and his wife. Enter Justin, his newly hired assistant who can rival Tramplemain and suddenly the match and the bet become interesting. Justin is distracted by his new fiancée, Louise, a waitress at the club, and their antics put his performance in jeopardy. Can Justin win Bingham the tournament and help them all get their lives back in order? Or is this just one more flustering setback in Binghams chaos riddled life?
The Fox on the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, its a furiously paced adult comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with...golf.
