In 2017, Brion Economics identified a gap of 10,789 early childhood education spaces for children ages 0-4, including 5,000 spaces needed for low-income children in San Mateo County.
Available and accessible child care is a quality of life and workforce issue, as well as a key piece in the infrastructure equation that involves housing, transit and jobs.
