Boise Poetry Slam Finals feat. Stephen Meads & Julia Gaskill

Boise Poetry Slam has sent a team to the National Poetry Slam every year since 2006, and this year is no different! The top 8 poets of the season will compete for 4 spots on the team that will represent the City of Trees at the 2018 National Poetry Slam, taking place in Chicago this August. As is tradition, our very favorite poets Stephen Meads and Julia Gaskill will be in town to feature! This is the biggest slam of the year, and you don't want to miss it, creatures of Boise

**Competing in this event is by invitation only, so there won't be a sign-up list. However, a slam is nothing without judges and an audience, so please come and support the poets who have been working hard all season to get to this point!

ABOUT OUR FEATURES:

Stephen Meads, originally a Bay-based poet, has featured at slams all across the country - from Portland, Maine to Honolulu, Hawaii. Stephen stormed IWPS in 2013, 2014, and 2017, has been on multiple competing teams at NPS, and was one of a select few chosen to perform at the Anthem Poetry Slam in May of 2015. He has been featured on Drunk in a Midnight Choir, Slam Find, and Button Poetry, and he occasionally contributes to the web-site Nailed. Stephen eats a lot of pizza, is the champion of pro-wrestling factoids, and hates writing poet bios. Julia Gaskill is a writer and professional daydreamer hailing from Portland, Oregon. Julia was on the Portland Slam team at NPS 2017, has competed in IWPS & WOWPS in both 2016 and 2017, and is the Portland Poetry Slam rep for WOWPS 2018. She is also the slammaster of the Portland mic Slamlandia. Her work has been featured on FreezeRay Poetry, Rising Phoenix Review, Front Row Central, and Voicemail Poems.
