Dear Deer - Mask Making for the Family with Sandy Spieler
Everwood Farmstead Foundation is proud to present the Artist Workshop "Dear Deer -
Mask Making for the Family" with Sandy Spieler on Saturday, June 2 from 10 am - 3 pm! This workshop is designed for young and not so young to work together to construct deer masks from cardboard, torn paper and tree branches. Participants will also learn how to wear their artwork. Each young participant must be paired with at least one adult participant.

Sandy Spieler is is a sculptor, painter, graphic artist, performer, theatre director, teacher and perpetual student. Her work includes tiny puppet shows performed in a suitcase, community collaborative performances, main stage theater productions, permanent public art commissions, and streetscape designs. She is one of the founders of In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre and has served as its Artistic Director for 40 years. She is the director/midwife of the Annual Mayday Parade and Ceremony in Minneapolis and has also directed ritual performances in Los Angeles, South Korea and the Dominican Republic.

Sandy holds an MA of Cultural Performance from Bristol University England. She studied puppetry arts at Bread and Puppet Theatre and at NYU. She is grateful for supportive awards over the years including two UNIMA-USA Citations of Excellence and the 2014 Distinguished Artist of the Year from the McKnight Foundation. www.sandyspieler.com

The price for the Workshop is $25 a person (which includes beverages). Once again, please remember that each young participant must be paired with at least one adult participant and the ticket price is for each participant.

Each participant should bring:
* Comfortable clothes and sensible shoes based on the weather; bring light brown clothing (if possible) to wear with your new mask!
* A picnic lunch
* Brown paper bags and any white, brown and black paper (if possible, don't buy anything as this workshop is about the transformation of recycled materials!)
