"The California Missions and Race Tour"

Summer 2012. Fred is standing in the middle of a California Mission Church. He is with a docent and 3 other visitors. One is an expert on the Catholic Church. One is an expert on the plight of the Native Americans. The third is an expert on...everything else. They stare at Fred. Is his fly open? Hair mussed? They have one thing in common. They are all experts on which famous black person Fred resembles.

"Memories of Resistance"

I laid in the dirt for an hour waiting for the Germans to leave so I could help my best friend escape. A blanket of fog helped us as we lay there shivering. The Nazi search light pans back and forth. I must get my Jewish friend to the boat or we'll both be killed.

"The Mermaid's Tears"

A cleaning lady walks into a den and sees a painting of a young girl. The girl, with a cell phone in one hand, a popsicle in the other, wears only pristine white underwear. Will the housecleaner dust the painting, deface it, destroy it, or fall in love with it? Or all of the above?
