The Pleasure of Playing (Workshop)
Using simple games and light exercises, The Pleasure of Playing will liberate the imagination and bring participants a new burst of energy, focus and awareness.
For this special event, Queer/Trans/Intersex People of Colour will have exclusive access to The Spire, a deconsecrated Church in Kemptown, Brighton
This workshop is designed for performers, and non-performers alike. Based on collective non-competitive games, these structured and surprisingly thought-provoking workshop became a must for clowns of all disciplines.
Join Angela De Castro, an life long performer as she facilitates this workshop, held specifically for members of the QTIPOC community.
Utilising techniques and games that are beloved by clowns and improvisational performers, the group will learn ways to bring the pleasure of playing into our every day lives, which are frequently weighed down by the pressures and demands of societal normativity.
This event is designed specifically to cater for the needs of queer, trans or intersex people of colour (QTIPOC). Availability is limited and intimate, so the organisers have asked that white people who want to practice allyship do not take tickets for this event which is being created by and with the QTIPOC community of Brighton.
