Abraham Shapiro Memorial Concert: Bloch Sacred Service
The sixty voice Robert Sharon Chorale, accompanied by Dr. Alan Mason at the piano and conducted by Dr. Michael Isaacson will present Ernest Bloch's landmark choral masterwork Avodat Hakodesh, the Sacred Service. It will feature CA Baritone Cantors Nathan Lam,Faith Steinsnyder and Stephen Texon.
To begin the opening Sunday evening concert Dr. Isaacson will offer a brief tribute and filmed interview with composer Samuel Adler. On the occasion of his 90th birthday Adler shares his compositional philosophy, work habits, and hopes for synagogue music.
