Watersheds vision is to produce innovative and high-quality contemporary dance works in collaboration with various artists including composers, musicians, visual artists, film makers, photographers and poets. Watershed Dance Theatremoving boundaries beyond traditional dance.
Founded in 2017 by artistic director, Sarah Todd Emery, Watershed Dance Theatre is a non-profit organization serving as a platform for performances, festivals, film and creative projects in contemporary dance.
After a long dance career in Charlotte, NC and other regions of the country, Sarah Emery relocated to the Atlanta area. The majority of her professional career was with the contemporary and multi-disciplinary dance company, Moving Poets Charlotte. Sarah was a principal dancer with Moving Poets from 1998-2006 under the direction of Till Schmidt-Rimpler and was brought on as co-artistic director from 2013-2015. Greatly influenced by the Moving Poets multi-disciplinary works, artist collaboration is frequently at the core of her work.
In addition to the Moving Poets, Sarahs professional performing career includes North Carolina Dance Theatre (now Charlotte Ballet), Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Omaha Theatre Ballet, Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance, Alban Elved Dance Company and Echo Contemporary Dance Company.
Sarah is a part of Atlanta Ballets teaching staff and a guest teacher at the Ponte Vedra Ballet and Dance Company. Her choreography has been premiered with various theatre companies and dance schools in the Carolinas as well as in Florida. Sarah also works as a graphic designer and received her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

The Dinner Table is a love story uniquely narrated through dance and film in a way never seen before. It is an intimate look at a relationship destroyed by social and political differences. With a divide in America that is stronger than ever, The Dinner Table is a haunting and captivating depiction of the cause and effect of how our lack of compassion can destroy.
