How to Make an Herbal Tincture
This is a comprehensive workshop where you will learn how to made tinctures (an alcohol extract of herbs) for internal and external use. Participants will prepare a tincture with both fresh and a dry plant material in class together, and they will get to take home a sample that we press in class.
This class will cover: - standardized tincture making from fresh and dried herbs - folk tincture making - how to decide what strength of alcohol should be used for what herb - how long to let it sit and how to strain it - how to tell if it's strong enough - storage - general dosages/ ways of using your tincture - where to get herbs and identifying quality material
This is a hands on class, so come ready to help out, measure, pour and wash. Bring an apron, a pen and something to take notes on to recall the knowledge you gain at a later time. I'll provide a handout.
