The Eccentricities of a Nightingale by Tennessee Williams
It's 1915 in Glorious Hill, Mississippi, the kind of insular small Southern town that Tennessee Williams was uniquely comfortable in exploring.  Based on his play Summer and Smoke, which premiered in 1948 and quickly shuttered, Williams never stopped rewriting and refining, until his 1951 version retitled The Eccentricities of a Nightingale debuted in New York in 1974. One of his finest plays, Eccentricities is a sometimes gentle, sometimes brutal indictment of our unflattering instinct to marginalize and discard others.

"...gorgeous and exciting production..."
--Toby Zinman, phindie.com

"Rarely has this odd and endearing little play  a late-career variant of the better known and oft-produced Summer and Smoke  sung so sweetly."
