CHS Community Cook-off

We'll answer the age-old question "Whose casserole reigns supreme?" with the expert help of our Celebrity Judges, MaryEllen Fillo (The Hartford Courant, JAVA), Kara Sundlun (WFSB, Better Connecticut), Chion Wolf (WNPR, Colin McEnroe Show), and Caitlin Croswell (Food blogger, CaitPlusAte.com). Bring along your best homecooking and you can claim bragging rights in categories designed to evoke your best and worst food memories: Not-So-Secret Ingredient Challenge, From Grandma's Kitchen (Recipes off the Family Tree), What's in that casserole, anyway?! and I didn't know you could do that with Jell-O. Even if you're not a Food Network Star wannabe, join us for the party featuring wonderful food from the Pond House, Diageo distributors wine donated by CT Valley Views (ctvalleyviews.com), and beer provided by Thomas Hooker Brewing Company. Guided tours of our exhibit Cooking by the Book: Amelia Simmons to Martha Stewart and a trip down food memory lane with our celebrity judges round out a vintage evening of food and fun. A canned food drive to benefit Hands on Hartford gives our retro celebration up-to-the-minute relevance by helping our neighbors in need. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
