Vancouver Story Slam Invitational

A special invitational edition of the monthly Vancouver Story Slam storytelling show just for Verses Festival of Words!

Ten storytellers share original short stories in a competition for cash and prizes. 50 audience members will receive voting ballots to select the night's winning storytellers.

Vancouver Story Slam is Canada's longest-running live monthly storytelling competition. New participants are always welcome; profits from the monthly show go to the VSS annual writing scholarship.

The list of invited storytellers is a mix of Story Slam tellers from the past year, as well as storytellers who are new to the Story Slam stage.

In December, the 2017 Story Slam Championship Final sold out the 420-seat Rio, so get your tickets now!

Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30. Doors at 6 pm. $10 in advance; $12 at the door. (Please note that the time is more than an hour earlier than a regular Story Slam show.)

Story Slam will be followed by a late night Verses edition of another favourite community show, Mashed Poetics, from 9:30 - midnight.
