Woodshop XII
04/05/18 - UPDATE: SOLD OUT! (Again.)  To get on a Wait List in case any last-minute tickets become available, please email info@woodshopbeer.com.

03/26/18 - UPDATE: A portion of the food for our event will be provided by Guerrilla Tacos, an amazing gourmet taco truck and LA institution.  Every admission comes with a credit ticket redeemable for $10+tax towards your a la carte order from Guerrilla Tacos.  Full menu available in case you want to gorge yourself, as Guerrilla Tacos tends to inspire us to do.  Artisanal cheese spread and beer floats still in the mix as well, for your overwhelming culinary delight and indulgence.

03/24/18 - UPDATE: T-shirt sales will be closing on Tuesday, 3/27/18 at 8:00 AM so we can get the order in to our t-shirt printers.  Shirts are badass.  Mockup photo added below.  Get 'em while they're hot!

03/19/18 - UPDATE: An exclusive bottled beer from Cellador Ales, "Woodshop 8th Anniversary Beer," is now available for sale to Woodshop XII attendees. This is a special, blended, barrel-fermented beer with Masumoto peaches and nectarines, finished with red raspberries, Madagascar vanilla beans, and foraged French lavender. It's delicious. After you purchase a ticket to the event, an email with private link and password to the bottle sales will be sent to you.

03/17/18 - UPDATE: General Admission back in business! We confirmed final capacity with the venue owners based on our layout, and we have a few more spots available. Get it in!

03/03/18 - UPDATE: "FIRST FIFTY" Bonus offer SOLD OUT!

The 12th iteration of this annual bottle-sharing beer geek extravaganza.

The Woodshop Tasting is fashioned as an indulgent beer connoisseur's beer festival and bottle-share.  It is organized and run as a sort of underground beer nerd event by a small group of longtime, dedicated LA-area beer lovers, and is designed to showcase the best of what the craft beer world can offer, both locally and globally.

Woodshop events run on a loose annual schedule.  There is no specific date that we celebrate as a ritual, and instead we pull these events together whenever the spirit moves us.  These roaming, pop-up beer festivals have been held in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Orange County since 2006, and the shifting dates fit in with the rotating venues to keep attendees and organizers on our toes, which we believe helps to create a buzz of excitement and an air of discovery for these events.  And while Woodshop 11 just took place not even 6 months ago on 11/11/17, it has actually been nearly 2  years since the last official Woodshop event in our own home town of Los Angeles, when Woodshop 10-LA was held on 10/4/15.  In other words: The spirit is moving.  Its time, homies.

"Woodshop XII" will be held on Saturday, April 7th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at The Hi Hat in the Highland Park neighborhood of LA.

"The Woodshop XII Hangover Brunch" will be held on Sunday, April 8th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Highland Park Brewery - Chinatown.

The Hi Hat is a small club concert venue owned and run by the same group of guys who own The Hermosillo, which is a block away on York Blvd. and was the host venue for both Woodshop 8 and Woodshop 10-LA.  The Hi Hat features a mostly wide open floor plan which we will use to its fullest to create a free-flowing Woodshop experience of fantastic draft beers, great food, and a truly epic bottle share.

Since the owners of The Hermosillo also have their hands in Highland Park Brewery (under their own shared roof), as well as the hot new spot HPB-Chinatown, we felt we would be remiss if we didn't include *some* kind of special tie-in with the newly opened brewpub.  So we have a special "bonus event" option with this year's Woodshop, which we're calling a "Hangover Brunch," to be held at HPB-Chinatown at 10AM on Sunday, April 8th.  This event is a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" glimpse of that hot new Chinatown experience, and will include a medium heat hot chicken sandwich from Howlin' Ray's (Nashville Hot Chicken), plus a brunch beer for your price of entry.  HPB-Chinatown is opening their doors early for us on that day, and we will have some special drink options available a la carte for your enjoyment if you'd like to extend the party beyond the "brunch-and-beer" experience.  Tickets for this offshoot event are very limited, and are not available as a standalone offering.

These are "private, open-invitation" events, which means the venues are closed to the public for the duration of the party, and the invitations and guest lists are managed via the party organizers initially.  But basically, if you *know* about it, you're invited.  So feel free to pass along information about the party to any friends you know who would embrace the spirit of the event, who are enthusiastic about the craft beer community, and who are curious to experience the best of what the beer world can be.  Every year, the crowd consists of a good percentage of repeat Woodshop attendees, but also every year there is a sizable turnover of "new blood" whose eyes are opened and minds are blown, and who are vital to the energy and passion of the day.

This year's main "Woodshop XII" party will feature much of the same Woodshop goodness of years past, with a nice variety of carefully selected draft offerings including several special Woodshop-exclusive one-off kegs (unlimited taster pours of at least 20+ beers on tap), a massive bottle-share, and many other twists and wrinkles like beer-and-cheese pairings, blind tasting "showdowns", custom beer infusions and beer blends, and probably another surprise or two we're working on.  As always, we encourage all guests to bring a bottle or few (or more) of the best beers from your cellar to share with any and all in attendance.  We like to think of this tasting as a perfect occasion to sample those special bottles you've been saving for just the right moment.

Tickets are $75 pre-paid per ticket for Woodshop XII, or $99 for Woodshop XII plus The Woodshop XII Hangover Brunch.  Both ticket types include the same unlimited draft beer pours during the Woodshop XII event, one custom Woodshop snifter, and access to the bottle-share, including artisan cheese spread, the special Woodshop food for this year, beer floats, blind tasting showdowns, and other special treats.

Custom Woodshop XII t-shirts are available for $20 pre-paid.

Additional glassware available via pre-sale as follows:

Classic Woodshop XII custom 12 oz. brandy snifter - $7
Balla Woodshop XII custom 0.4L crystal balloon goblet - $11

"FIRST FIFTY" Bonus: The first fifty people to purchase tickets for this years event(s) will be upgraded to the Balla crystal balloon goblet for no extra cost.  You will be contacted within a few days if you are in the First Fifty.  Other than your provided glassware, First Fifty admission is exactly the same as "regular" General Admission.  There are no VIP's at Woodshop-- *everyone* is a VIP.  If you get a First Fifty glass, of course you can still feel free to purchase a Classic brandy snifter in addition to the crystal balloon goblet, to round out your collection and impress all of your friends.  And even if you are *not* First Fifty, you can still purchase one of the Balla crystal balloon goblets as an extra, and pretend that you were all over it right when tickets went on sale.

You will be asked to provide a first and last name for every ticket you purchase.  These names must be unique so that each guest's name can be added to the list at the door for check-ins.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.  This is purely to assure the best, least expensive, and most bang-for-your-buck event for all, and to eliminate any kind of secondary market in the (extremely likely) event of a sell-out.  If you bought a ticket and cannot attend, please get in touch with us at info@woodshopbeer.com, and we will do our best to find a replacement from our Wait List.  Unfortunately, we cannot promise that we will be able to assist with any Wait List transfers during the actual week of our event, as we will likely be extremely busy with final preparations for this epic soiree.  But you can ask.  And we will do what we can.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING PHOTO ID.  NOBODY UNDER 21 YEARS OF AGE WILL BE ADMITTED.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
