VEGI Kick-Off Event
This year, V.E.G.I.'s Kick-Off event is an adult-only private ticketed event at the lovely El Sagrado Farm featuring an SLV Farm to Table Dinner!
We have a goal of raising $2500 this year to kick-off our garden season and are inviting community members to help support our effort either through a one-time donation, or by attending this exclusive Dinner event. The meal will feature San Luis Valley ingredients, and the event will feature a presentation on the efforts of the Valley Educational Gardens Initiative to promote community/school gardens and nutrition education in the San Luis Valley!
The event will take place in a 3-story house made out of straw bales and adobe with attached greenhouse, located on an off-grid Biodynamic sheep farm just outside of La Jara, Co, 15-20 minutes south of Alamosa. El Sagrado Farm is debuting itself as a retreat center and educational farm space, with dormitory rooms and lots of farm happenings, so this will be a good sneak peak into the space. Guaranteed baby sheep viewings, good company, and great food, while supporting a tremendous cause for much needed garden-based education for youth in the SLV.
Purchasing tickets is required ahead of time for this event, as seats are strictly limited to 25 maximum, with potential for quick sell-out. No dogs are allowed on the property, and unfortunately this is one event that is not kid-friendly. Otherwise, we hope you can join us for this unique farm-raiser!
