True Love Lies is a gut wrenchingly moving dark comedy that promises to be a great opportunity to experience Brad Fraser's, Canadas Bad-Boy of Theatre, brilliant writing once again.
The rapid dialogue and action moves along at an incredibly fast pace, the language is very dense, almost like Shakespeare, and its filled to the brim with fantastic humorous Brad Fraser wit.
The character David McMillan returns for a fourth appearance in one of Fraser's plays; is he Frasers alter-ego perhaps? In this provocative, challenging sexualized sitcom-cum-family-explosive sexcapade, McMillan, now a successful restaurateur, returns to Yorkville after a twenty-year absence.
The stars crisscross and collide with his close college-days friend Kane Sawatsky, now a successful Interior Decorator and family man, causing mayhem and bedlam to ensue. The bonds of friendship, family values and business relations are put to the test; can they remain steadfast and withstand, uninterrupted by the truths behind the lies told to those we love in order to protect them, once the truth is revealed?
