Politics and Prose and Sixth & I Present MICHAEL POLLAN
Michael Pollan changed the way we write about food - and the way we eat it - with his best-selling books THE OMNIVORE'S DILEMMA, IN DEFENSE OF FOOD, FOOD RULES, and more. Hes helped countless readers reframe the way they go to the supermarket, look at a menu, fill their children's plates. In HOW TO CHANGE YOUR MIND, he gives us the fascinating account of how he reframed his own understanding of psychedelic drugs, combining cutting-edge medical and scientific research with his own adventures through altered states of consciousness.
Pollan will be in conversation with Alix Spiegel,co-founder of Invisibilia, a podcast and radio show from NPR about the unseen forces that control human behavior - our ideas, beliefs, assumptions, and thoughts. Over the course of her career in public radio, Spiegel has won many awards including a George Foster Peabody Award, an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award, and a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award.
