Piatti San Antonio Amaro Beverage Class at The Quarry
Join us for a fun and educational tasting experience featuring some of the best amari - fine liqueurs from different regions of Italy. Sample four amari while learning about the spirits' tasting profiles, rich history and recommended everyday food pairings. Our guests will enjoy two delicious amari cocktails (both a welcome drink and a digestif), paired with mouthwatering regional Italian appetizers. Salute!
Amari Sampling Menu:
Aperol: This is one of the lightest Amaro on the market, and the Aperol Spritz is Italy's most popular cocktail right now.
Montenegro: This amaro is still considered a light amaro, though it does start to get into some of the fuller notes of herbs, which should transition well from Aperol. Montenegro also has a great back story to it, as the recipe of 40 ingredients is only known by 4 people. It was named from the Princess of Montenegro and was used during her wedding, which is very interesting.
Lucano: This will be the richest and most complex amaro at the tasting. Lucano was once so popular, that it was the official supplier to the house of Savoy, and their coat of arms is till on the bottle today.
Nonino Quintessa: The highest quality amaro at the tasting, Nonino is based in Friuli and the distillery was founded in 1897 by Orazio Nonino.
