Shinto Blessing Ceremony at First Viewing
Join us at the Seattle Japanese Garden for a very special Shinto blessing ceremony on March 4th, 2018! This ceremony is a part of First Viewing, a re-opening event welcoming the general public inside the gates for the 2018 season. Our First Viewing celebration begins at 10 a.m. with the dramatic flair of a Shinto blessing. A Shinto blessing is a formal ceremony that's been conducted in Japan since ancient times. The blessing will usher in auspicious ki life energy for a successful new year and will be conducted by Reverend Koichi Barrish of Tsubaki Grand Shrine from Granite Falls, WA. Pre-purchasing a ticket to this event reserves your seat at the Shinto blessing ceremony. General admission for First Viewing will be available as soon as the blessing ceremony is completed.
