Kurt Elling with Special Guest Marquis Hill - 7:00 PM
Grammy winner Kurt Elling is among the worlds foremost jazz vocalists. He won DownBeat Magazines Critics Poll for fourteen consecutive years and was named Male Singer of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association on eight occasions. Grammy-nominated over a dozen times, Elling has been honored with international jazz awards, including the prestigious Edison Jazz Oeuvreprijs. Ellings rich baritone spoans four octaves and features astonishing technical mastery and emotional depth. His repertoire includes original compositions and modern interpretations of standards, all of which are springboards for inspired improvisation, scatting, spoken work and poetry. He'll be joined on this concert date by lauded Chicago trumpeter Marquis Hill.
