9:45-10:30Michael Jennings PhD, From Ptolemy to Neibuhr: Myths, Errors, and Science in the Mapping of Arabia. Jennings is the founder of Neatline Antique Maps in San Francisco and earned his PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago.
10:30-11:15Dan Rademacher, GreenInfo: Mapping the Public Landscape. Rademacher is the Executive Director of GreenInfo Network, a non-profit that has developed some of the most comprehensive geospatial datasets about our shared landscape. It has mapped 15,000 parks, thousands of acres of conservation lands, and 10,000 school campuses across California. The datasets are freely available and are used to help agencies and nonprofits achieve goals like more equitable access to parks and reduced exposure of kids to tobacco marketing.

11:30-12:15Ron Gibbs MD, On the Brink of Disaster, George Washington and the American Revolution, 1775-1776, will trace the early years of the Revolution through Washingtons battle tactics using maps that explain the terrain that forced Washington to make tough decisions to ward off near-certain disaster.
12:15-1:45Lunch and self-tour of the Chabot Space & Science Center
1:45-2:30Betsy Mason, Mapping the Grand Canyon: An epic eight-year quest to create a cartographic masterpiece. Mason is co-author of the National Geographic blog All Over the Map. After spending a year tracking down and researching intriguing maps for her forthcoming book, also titled All Over the Map, Mason has dozens of stories to tell. For her talk, she'll share one of her favorites: the story behind a remarkable 1978 map of the Grand Canyon.
2:30-3:15Kate Anderson PLS will speak about modern day surveying in San Francisco and her life as the only female public land surveyor in the City.

3:30-4:00Peter Hiller, The Life and Work of Jo Mora. Hiller is the curator of the Jo Mora Trust. Mora is beloved for his pictorial maps published from the late 1920s to the mid-1940s but he was also an accomplished book illustrator, painter, sculptor and writer.
