Blithe Spirit - A Play by Noel Coward Presented by PVPN
You won't want to miss PVPN's live production of Noel Coward's infamously funny play, Blithe Spirit. When Blithe Spirit first opened in the West End in 1941, it held the record for the "longest production runs of non-musical British plays".
Performances are at Westview Hills Middle School March 9-11 and 16-18 at 7pm on Friday and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
Tickets are available online through Brown Paper Tickets and at the door for $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
Box office opens an hour before the show; seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
PLOT: British socialite and novelist Charles Condomine, in a desperate attempt to gain inspiration for a new book he is writing, invites local medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati to his house to conduct a séance. The scheme backfires when Madame Arcati inadvertently summons Charles's first wife, Elvira, who has been dead for seven years. Only Charles can see or hear her and his current wife, Ruth, does not believe that Elvira exists and that Charles is losing his mind. But after experiencing some bizarre occurrences (thanks to Elvira), Ruth accepts the strange truth. Elvira makes continued and desperate attempts to disrupt Charles and Ruth's marriage and then things get complicated. And what follows is a darkly funny competition between two women, one dead, one living, as they battle for the possession of their husband....
