Gene Gore is a solo performer and writer. She is 86 years old. Born during the Depression in Washington DC. She is a registered nurse. Retired in 2006. She is a mother and grandmother with a BA in Psychology and BS in Social Work and an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling. Specializing in mental health, addiction, family therapy and AIDS. She has worked as a nurse in Florida, Massachusetts and California.
She has performed in several theaters in San Francisco and Fresno California, winning "Best in Fringe" in San Francisco. She has been in a number of Indie Films and plays in San Rafael and TV Commercials.
Follow Gene Gore along her journey as a dutiful wife and mother in a comfortable southern setting to nurse on the leading edge of the fight against AIDS to solo performer with a helluva story to tell. With a life that embodies and chronicles the women's movement and armed with wry wit and wisdom, this feisty, poignant and very funny storyteller brings a truth to the questions we all ask ourselves:
Who am I supposed to be? What am I supposed to be doing?
