Youth Acting Class

ACTING CLASS FOR YOUTH
Ages 8 to 12

In this 5 week, fun-packed course, (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4 PM CST) equity actor Holly Schroeder, and instructor Tito Sanchez - Williams (graduate of the New School of Drama in NYC with a Master or Fine Arts in Acting) will teach young actors skills to help them listen, focus, and find their inner voice. Using proven techniques and fun theatre games, students will discover new found confidence and friendships. Classes scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning the week of June 24. During this summer program your young actor will develop their creative abilities, learn vocal projection, articulation, timing, and improve their listening skills, confidence and grace through theatre games and acting.

Classes start with proven improvisation exercises used by the most accomplished actors for vocal and physical warmups. Classes feature improvisation exercises created at Second City and Improv Olympia, as well as professional acting instruction. Students will learn to read scripts out loud and perform onstage with other cast members.

Students will also be invited to observe our Summer Company of actors and tech crew as they prepare for our summer production of "Charlotte's Web". Participating students also receive one free ticket to "Charlotte's Web".

The summer culminates in a showcase celebrating your young actor's new found talents. Class size is limited, so reserve your spot early. Classes take place at the theatre located at 288 Shady Oak Dr., Michigan City, IN.
