Proceeds from the Spring Benefit will help fund Support Connection's year-round, free breast and ovarian cancer support services and programs
Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour followed by dinner, music and dancing, as well as a silent auction and many beautiful prize baskets.
At the Spring Benefit, we will present our Annual Spirit Awards. We are proud to announce our 2018 honorees:
MARGE O'BRIEN: MARIA RUBINO JENNINGS SPIRIT OF CARING AWARD: This award is presented in honor and memory of Maria who helped create Support Connections Peer Counseling program and other services. It is given to someone who follows the example established by Maria: Making a positive difference in many lives through the power of caring. Marge exemplifies the power of caring. She gives wholeheartedly of her time and talents in many ways, to help us support people dealing with breast and ovarian cancer.
SARAH CHAPARRO & FAMILY: SPIRIT OF GIVNG AWARD: Spirit of Giving honorees are an inspiration to others and clearly demonstrate what it means to give of oneself. Sarah and her family have a team for our Support-A-Walk, In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Chaparro, which they organized many years ago in tribute to their mom. As a team, they have raised over $25,000 for Support Connection.
JULIE P. HANEY & REBECCA PHILLIPPO: SPIRIT OF HOPE AWARDS: This award is given to honor individuals who offer inspiration to other cancer survivors. They have taken their own experiences and translated them into an opportunity to raise awareness about Support Connections mission. By sharing their personal stories, they empower others to reach out to us for help and encourage people to support our free services.
CHARLENE MARIE NIGRO: SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP AWARD: This award is presented to someone whose leadership has had a major positive impact on those we serve. Charlene, a teacher at Lakeland High School, is responsible for their student internship program and their FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America.)
