Mount Mary College welcomes back Anne Ream, Chicago-based writer and the founder of The Voices and Faces Project, as keynote speaker for this event. Ms. Ream is nationally known for her innovative efforts to improve the lives of women and girls and her passion for changing the status quo through a series of creative, media driven initiatives. Recently named one of People Magazine's "Heroes Among Us," Ream is the author of the forthcoming book, "Lived Through This," (Beacon Press, 2014), which is a "journey and a memoir" chronicling her multi-year, multi-country journey listening to the stories of survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence and trafficking, and bringing those stories to the attention of the public.
The program will include lunch and a panel discussion facilitated by Professor Rachel Monaco-Wilcox of the Mount Mary College Justice Department, with Ms. Ream, representatives of the Greater Milwaukee Human Trafficking Task Force, and the FBI's Federal Human Trafficking Task Force. There will also be a featured exhibit of work from the past "We Are the Stories We Tell" Testimonial Writing Workshop.
