Join us August 20 -21 for Washington State Mentors Third Annual Conference at Seattle University. Building on our momentum of last year, this year's conference promises to be one you will not want to miss!

This years topics include:Is It Ethical to Discuss?; Culture of Poverty; Cultural Responsiveness for Youth and Their Families; Fostering Resilience in Youth: Moving from Research to Action; The Politics of Food; Match Closure: Why It Matters, Can We Teach Them to Do the Right Thing? Foster Clubs' Permanency Pact, Introducing the Risk Assessment Tool, and more!

We are especially excited to have with us this year, Elia Moreno and Dr. Carla Herrera.

Elia Moreno is a bilingual master at assisting organizations and individuals to gain fresh new ways to address poverty. Elia was trained in 2010 by Dr. Donna Beegle and became a Communicating Across Barriers Gold Star presenter in 2012. She will help the audience to see how they can address poverty.

Carla Herrera, Ph.D. is an independent consultant and adjunct professor at Portland State University who was most recently a research fellow at P/PV, publishing        numerous studies on mentoring. We are especially excited to have Dr. Herrera provide an in-depth look at the outcomes of a new report, The Role of Risk: Mentoring Experiences and Outcomes for Youth with Varying Risk Profiles, co-authored with Drs. David DuBois and Jean Grossman.  You can find more information about the report by visiting our website at:www.wamentors.org.

We look forward to seeing you there!
