"Home" 2018 Te Pura O Te Rahura'a Polynesian Showcase
Te Pura O Te Rahura'a, the award winning dance troupe from Spark of Creation Studio (South San Francisco) performs songs and dances from the islands of Hawaii and Tahiti at this annual fundraising showcase. Performers from the groups Company, Advanced and Intermediate Levels will perform. The show will also feature the life music of the Te Pura Band and Drummers.
The troupe will be also be performing their original production, "To Ananahi" (A Brighter Tomorrow). Debuting at the 2017 San Jose Tahiti Fete, "To Ananahi" tells the story of our world today, connected to devices and not to the world and each other and how Ta'aroa (God of Creation) returns to earth to bring everyone back together.
This story was written to remind everyone that while technology
moves us forward into the future, we must not forget to enjoy the beauty of the world around us, take care of the world we have been blessed with, and not forget the personal connection that brings us together
This production received numerous awards including Best Overall Group Production.
