PhxFringe - SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND
Seek and Ye Shall Find is a solo piece that portrays the experience of black gay men. As one who identifies with this, it is the artists intention to illuminate the black gay community, one which is often invisible, even to its members and so misrepresented in society. Much of the piece is constructed of interviews that were collected from men in the Phoenix and Washington DC area. The piece focuses on the issues the artist found to be a common thread amongst the men interviewed, issues such as, identity, finding love, self hate, fitting in and self-appreciation.
