After-Party: Tickets Required Following the Red Rooster at Post & Beam: A Taste Of Harlem in Baldwin Hills dinner, the restaurant will be hosting a casual after-party providing guests an opportunity to mingle and meet both Chefs, Govind Armstrong & Marcus Samuelsson, and Principal Brad Johnson. Beginning at 9:30PM, the event will cost $20 to attend providing additional raised funds to C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program), sounds from DJ Chack, and is topped by a cash bar featuring Post & Beam's classic cocktail menu and local beer and wine selection. We, along with our sponsors Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Capri Capital Partners and the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, invite you to join as we celebrate the final days of Black History Month, and toast the flavors of America at this special one-night-only affair.
Dinner: Chef Govind Armstrong and restaurateur Brad Johnson invite one of the nation's most heralded chefs, Marcus Samuelsson, into the kitchen at their Baldwin Hills restaurant Post & Beam to create reinvented soulful classics for one night only on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. The guest chef dinner, Red Rooster at Post & Beam: A Taste Of Harlem in Baldwin Hills commemorates Black History Month, and is ticketed at $140 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity), featuring dishes that draw inspiration from each chef's diverse cultural roots and chef ideology. Post & Beam marks Baldwin Hills' first California seasonal restaurant, and utilizes produce and herbs from the restaurant's on-site garden as well as from the South Central Farmers' Cooperative. In addition to using these locally sourced ingredients, Armstrong and Samuelsson will infuse their signature modernization of classic Americana fare, creating a unique menu and experience for the affair. A Taste Of Harlem in Baldwin Hills will impart the flavors of Samuelsson's signature Red Rooster cuisine with Southern California flair. Continuing their commitment to the local neighborhood, Post & Beam will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Los Angeles chapter of C-CAP. C-CAP, Careers through Culinary Arts Program, works with public schools across the country to prepare underserved high school students for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Tickets required.
