The Visceral Company presents 40th anniversary revival of Ira Levin's twisted psychological thriller VERONICA'S ROOM

The Visceral Company is thrilled to present a 40th anniversary revival of the twisted psychological thriller VERONICA'S ROOM by Ira Levin, acclaimed author of classics Rosemary's Baby, The Stepford Wives, and Deathtrap. Dan Spurgeon, Visceral's Artistic Director, directs this production.

VERONICA'S ROOM will play Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm, from February 8 through March 30, 2013, at the Underground Theater, 1312 N. Wilton Pl., Hollywood, CA.

VERONICA'S ROOM is a twisted thriller about identity and psychological torture. The play takes place in a Victorian mansion outside of Boston on an autumn night in 1973, where co-ed Susan and her date find themselves as guests of the elderly caretaker couple. Hearing the tragic tale of the dying estate owner, Susan agrees to impersonate Veronica, a long-dead sister she apparently resembles. Soon, Susan discovers herself locked in Veronica's room, pretending to be Veronica and learns too late why talking to strangers can be dangerous.

VERONICA'S ROOM features Amelia Gotham as the young woman, Mark Souza as her male companion, and Karen Kahler and Patrick Skelton* as the estate's caretakers. Lighting design is by Dave Sousa (LA Weekly Award nominee for our 2011 production of Closet Land), set design by Mary Hamrick, costume design by Erica D. Schwartz, and hair and makeup design by Natalee Castillo.

We hope to encourage further onstage exploration of the horror, thriller and science fiction genres, which have been underrepresented in theatre, and to build an appreciation of theatre in the younger audiences that are traditionally drawn to them.
