The Victoria Poetry Project presents its first workshop of 2018: Spoken Word Poetry with Jeremy Loveday! Come hone your performance and writing skills with one of Victoria's best slam poets. Folks at all levels of experience with spoken word poetry welcome.

From 1:30-4pm at CityStudio, this workshop will focus primarily on writing, with time set aside for performance coaching and practice.

15 seats are available for purchase ahead of time and we will be offering limited tickets at the door - guarantee your seat and get your ticket now!
12 tickets are being offered at the regular rate of $10 (+service fees) and 3 are being offered at the benefactor rate of $20, to subsidize folks who want to attend but can't afford it.

Jeremy Loveday is an award-winning performance poet and 2X Victoria Poetry Slam Champion. Jeremy speaks his truth powerfully on social and environmental justice issues, gender violence, love, manhood, and leadership. His work has been featured on Upworthy, Huffington Post, CBC, and in Claudia; one of Brazil`s largest magazines. His video poem Masks Off - A Challenge to Men has been viewed close to a million times, been translated into 6 languages and is taught in Universities and High School classrooms around the world. Jeremy is the Founder and Director of Victorious Voices youth arts festival and he has served as a Victoria City Councillor since 2014.

About the venue:
CityStudio is located on the ground level of Johnson St next to the Johnson St parkade. It has washrooms and a small kitchen, including a small refrigerator. The entrance is a standard single door.
