Frank Theatre's GROUNDED featuring Audrey Park as the Pilot
Frank Theatre is thrilled to present a new staging of GROUNDED by George Brant, which the company staged to great acclaim in 2014. Featuring Audrey Park as the solo performer, GROUNDED will tour Greater Minnesota in February, with a two-week run in the Twin Cities at the Perpich Center for Arts Education, Feb. 8 - 18. This production is sponsored by the Women Veterans Initiative.

In GROUNDED, a hotshot fighter pilot finds her career in the sky interrupted by an unplanned pregnancy. Reassigned to a desk job, she fights a war by day, and then returns to her family and her daughters pink ponies by night. As she operates drones in Afghanistan remotely from a windowless trailer outside of Las Vegas, her life in the desert begins to collide with the desert she is patrolling on the other side of the world. This compelling and searing look at moral responsibility, contradictory choices, and modern warfare seamlessly blends the personal and the political as it explodes our assumptions about war, family, and the power of storytelling.

Running time approximately 85 minutes. Free parking available.

GROUNDED was the winner of the 2012 Smith Prize and was named as a Top Ten Play of 2013 by both the Guardian and the London Evening Standard. Frank Theatres production of GROUNDED is directed by Artistic Director Wendy Knox, with scenery by Joe Stanley, sound by Mike Croswell, costumes by Kathy Kohl, and lighting by Mike Kittel.

GROUNDED is performed by Audrey Park, whose roles include the title role in Ten Thousand Things recent production of ELECTRA, Pillsbury House Theatres THE GREAT DIVIDE; PLAYS FOR A BROKEN NATION, Yuet/Susan in THE PAPER DREAMS OF HARRY CHIN at History Theatre, Junhee in Mus YOU FOR ME FOR YOU, as well as numerous other productions with Mu.

"Knox's restraint and trust  in the material, in performer  and in her audiences to go along with the story  is an act of bravery  it's a worthwhile flight." -- Pioneer Press

"As always with Knox, Grounded exhibits intelligence and play-driving focus. Her designers  Joseph Stanley (sets), Michael Kittel (lights), Kathy Kohl (costumes) and Michael Croswell (sound), do terrific work ... Their production is clean and focused . the story is terrific. Anything Frank Theatre does is worth a look." --  howwastheshow.com
