Honolulu based master storyteller and puppeteer Jeff Gere performs a piece originally commissioned by the Honolulu Museum of Art to celebrate and open the Doris Duke Islamic Museum in Honolulu. Responding to the Iraq War, THE PORTERS TALE depicts several stories within stories (how 3 one-eyed men lost their eyes) revealing the pulp fiction genius of these age old tales.

Live musical accompaniment by Amos Libby on oud, Indian tabla and Middle Eastern percussion.
