An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, The Vagina Monologues introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who liked to look at it.
Starring Elaine Bernstein, Molly Brennan, Kathleen Carthy, Valerie diLorenzo, Carol Ann DiPirro, Rebecca Edana, Legislator Bridget Fleming, Shannon Gilson Dupuis, Amy Kirwin, Amayrani Martinez, Kate Mueth, Cindy Pease Roe, Minerva Perez, and Susan Stout. Plus The Man Prayer with Matthew Conlon and Ed Brennan.
ABOUT THE RETREAT
The Retreats mission is to provide safety, shelter and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence. In pursuit of that mission, The Retreat provides direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, their families and the Eastern Long Island community through a 24-hour bilingual hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, prevention education, and emergency shelter. Violence prevention education and other supportive programs are available in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
