LLCC 2018 Kick-Off Luncheon at the San Luis Obispo Country Club

Please join us for a friendly, enjoyable luncheon to kick off 2018 on Friday, February 16 at 12 noon at the San Luis Obispo Country Club and learn with us about:

"The Rights and Wrongs of Judicial Review -- the Case of Gerrymandering"

Our special guest speaker will be Ronald C. Den Otter, a Professor of Political Science at Cal Poly. Professor Den Otter has published several books and articles on the legal issues concerning judicial review and same-sex marriage. He is teaching courses on American Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties and Rights, Judicial Process and other pertinent political topics at Cal State Los Angeles, UCLA, Pepperdine and Cal Poly.

Prof. Den Otter says that the purpose of his talk is not to look into a crystal ball to make a prediction about the outcome of the gerrymandering case before the Supreme Court. Instead, he will discuss what judicial review is, why it is important, and how it may be used in this case.

1. Meyer Lemon Roasted Chicken Breast with Lemon Caper Pan Sauce, accompanied by Mixed Green Salad, Four Cheese Potato Gratin, and Chocolate Fondant Cake.

2. Vegetarian: Eggplant Parmesan with accompaniments. Please note that the Country Club will only prepare up to ten lunches for vegetarians. We are requesting that non-vegetarians order the chicken entree.
