Healing and Empowerment Through Dreams and Plants with Huixola: Blanca S. Villalobos _BIPOC/QTPOC_ONLY SPACE
*This workshop is open to *BIPOC only. All ages.
(black, indigenous & people of color)

Our dreams are sacred & depending on our experience this world may be a source of anxiety or one of healing. This is due to many reasons, some of which are tied to trauma, capitalism and oppression to name a few. Reclaiming your dream world is an act of spiritual resistance and connecting with plants is an amazing way to begin your relationship to your dreams.

Our ancestors live here. Our desires roam here. Insight and ancestral wisdom lay here. You have every right to this door.

In this workshop we will revisit the happenings that occur when we slumber and guide one another through self-interpretation. We will meditate on ways in which we can honor our dreams and share knowledge on supportive practices for cultivating & sustaining these relationships. Plant allies that support the dream world will be shared & participants will make their own dream tea blend to take home! Afterwards, tinctures and flower essences will be available for purchase for those interested.

Please come with a dream and intention in mind! No need to be an avid dreamer to attend, all dream experiences are welcome.
*This workshop is open only to folks that identify as black, indigenous or as a person of color. All ages are welcome.

Bio

Huixola is an artist & activist with roots in southern California and the Sierra Madre Occidental of Jalisco, MX. She is a proud, queer daughter of Mexican immigrants and comes from a long line of dreamers and educators. She believes that dreams have the capacity to inform folks of ancestral knowledge, of the reclamation of one's history and as a space of healing & empowerment. Over the past 7 years she has had the honor of working with youth of color as a community educator and more recently has been teaching a healthy relationships curriculum to Latinx youth in order to prevent gender based violence. She is also the founder of Pochas Radicales, a queer Latinx art collective based out of Portland, OR and on her free time you may find her making ceviche de camarĂ³n or spinning folk records for loved ones.

Intentions

Funds gathered from this workshop will go directly to supporting the facilitator's move back to her first home in southern California in early 2018. She will be traveling across two states through snow and freezing temperatures and will need support in order to arrive sana y salva (safe and sound).

Scholarships

We have a few scholarships available for queer, trans & non binary folks. Please email bstaceyv@gmail.com to apply for a scholarship.
