BUGABOO & THE SILENT ONE - A New Play by Marja-Lewis Ryan

Bugaboo is an inmate in the women's block of Henderson County Jail in West Virginia. After 42 days alone, she is assigned a roommate who she comes to call her "silent little sinner". Presented by producer Chris Bender (American Pie, History of Violence, Mulan), Marja-Lewis Ryan's timely new drama is an intimate look at the power of female friendship despite devastating circumstances. Bugaboo & The Silent One opens January 6th at The Lounge Theater in Hollywood.

Big mouth Bugaboo, played by LA Drama Critics Circle Award Winning Actress Heidi Sulzman, has recently "come fully to Jesus" and is set on saving the soul of her new roommate, The Silent One (Jacqueline Toboni). But as the play unfolds, it becomes clear that they are both desperate for something outside of themselves.

BUGABOO & THE SILENT ONE marks Marja-Lewis Ryan's fourth original production at The Lounge. Her trio of dysfunctional family plays: Dysnomia (2011), One in The Chamber (2014) and A Good Family (2015) have garnered her two Ovation Award Nominations (2011, 2014) and an LA Drama Critics Circle Award for Writing (2015).

Executive Producer Chris Bender (Good Fear Film) said that "since meeting Marja, I haven't missed a play, each brilliantly exploring complex social truths through intimate relationships, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this next chapter."

BUGABOO & THE SILENT ONE features Ryan's most frequent collaborator: Heidi Sulzman (DYSNOMIA, ONE IN THE CHAMBER, A GOOD FAMILY, THE ANARCHIST, NYC) alongside Jacqueline Toboni (EASY, GRIMM) and LA stage veteran Michelle Gardner.
