Handel and his Messiah
This innovative and exciting interpretation, entitled "Handel and his Messiah," will feature veteran Canadian stage and film actor, Davis LeReaney as Handel. Mr. Lereaney will be joined by the Bow Valley Chorus , as well as soloists, soprano Karen J. Minish, mezzo Sara Staples, tenor Matthew Bruce, bass Aaron Dimoff, with orchestral accompaniment.
The dramatic component has been conceived and written by Bow Valley Chorus music director, John Goulart, and will offer a glimpse into the circumstances surrounding the creation of this glorious masterpiece. Handel will describe his music, while shedding light on the history behind it,share his experiences in composing it, as well as conveying his own thoughts and beliefs about the Messiah text.
