Lantern Classes, All Ages

Participants can choose to visit up to two of the three lantern-making classes below, all running concurrently.
Children under 7 may create one free lantern when accompanied by an adult.

Flower bottle lantern class:
We will make lanterns out of recycled plastic bottles, wire and duct tape. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Meyers dish washing soap bottles are especially nice, but any plastic bottles you think interesting would be welcome. This class involves use of sharp tools, and thus, is suitable for older children and adults.

Paper lanterns:
These little paper lanterns are easy to make and are suitable for all ages. Children under six may benefit from an adult or older childs help. All tools and materials including a battery candle will be provided. Just bring your creativity and a sense of whimsy. (Northwest Art Center)

Can lanterns:

Sturdy cardboard coffee cans will be converted into illuminated magic! Suitable for age 7 and up, or younger with adult assistance. (Train Depot)
