Rachel Brooke House Concert

Roots Hoot House Concerts goes exploring for March as we present Rachel Brooke in a special late Sunday afternoon show. Dubbed by the Saving Country Music website as the Queen of Underground Country, the Northern Michigan-based Brooke is touring behind her pretty freakin' excellent new album "A Killer's Dream" which Shooter Jennings of Sirius Outlaw Country fame (and performer in his own right, not to mention son of Waylon) named to his Tops of 2012 list. The album combines the sometimes sultry, sometimes spooky voice and songs of Brooke with elements of blues, garage and country as provided by her backing band Viva La Vox. Brooke grew up in a bluegrass/folk family but rocked out in a punk band as a teenager. She's got chops aplenty and is a talent on the rise. In other words, you do not want to miss this one. It is a BYOB/potluck show which means terrific food to go with an evening of great music.
