Poor little rich girl meets with London's seedy underbelly, at the intersection between hipster rebellion and good, old-fashioned sleaze in BEAT GIRL, Britain's official entry into the "white kids on dope" canon of Beatsploitation. When pouty art student Jennifer (Gillian Hills) meets her darling daddy's sexy new French wife, her Oedipal jealousy and creative frustration send her on a tailspin into the very depths of youthful transgression (literally, there is a dance party in a cave). Rankled by her phony friends and suffering from a case of the old ennui, she chooses instead to heap cheap coffee, unfiltered cigarettes, and American jazz into the gaping hole within.
