December Subjective

Comedic and artistic tastes are subjective. Some people like Bill Burr and Picasso. Others prefer Maria Bamford and Andy Warhol. Milwaukee Comedy and Var Gallery & Studios present the debut SUBJECTIVE showcase, where the comedians are the artists and their sets, the work of art. A curator will present each comic's "Artist Statement" before their set. Once everyone has performed, the work as a whole will gather on stage and face the scrutiny of the audience. Our hope is the dissolve the barrier between artist and audience and stimulate a conversation about the medium, what is gleaned from the singular expressive mode and what it means as a whole. It's an experiment in comedy.
