Women's Workshop

The Nursery is launching a brand new series of workshops by women for women.

The idea is to create an open and supportive creative space for female-identifying improvisers of all ages and experience levels who may, for whatever reason, feel they would benefit from an all-female class environment in which to learn and play! Its a safe place to come and be bold and fearless and meet other dynamic women from across the city.

The classes run once a month, and they are stand alone, so you can book one or come along every time. Each workshop is taught by a different teacher and focuses on a specific area of improvisation, and we have some exciting people lined up over the coming months!

Our second class is on Sunday 10 December, 3-6pm with Jinni Lyons.
Jinni has performed and taught improv for eight years. She created her solo improv show, Jinni Lyons is an Only Child, in 2013, which she has toured nationally and internationally, including a headlining slot at the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, USA. She also performs with the Destination podcast and The Bumper Blyton Show, and in the Liverpool and London Improvathons. Other performance work includes directing The Restaurant, a Nursery Theatre Original; improvising in Italian for the UK team on the Match d'Improvizzazione Mondiali tour in Italy; judging the Alan Bates Bursary Award at The Actors Centre; immersive theatre with Secret Cinema; and creating site-specific immersive shows in a caravan.
