Learn the Ancient Art of Persimmon Drying and Massage
Join us for a rare opportunity to learn the arcane yet easily mastered Japanese technique of drying and massaging Hachiya persimmons to create Hoshigaki. The technique of Hoshigaki is on the Slow Food Ark of Taste.
Our teacher is Rebecca Bozzelli, owner of Lantern Farm in Cloverdale.
Participants will receive written instructions and hands on guidance on peeling, hanging, and hand massaging persimmons to create Hoshigaki. You will also receive your own fruit to peel and string for hanging.
